The Story of Matt & Rose

Matt came from the cornfields of northern Indiana and Rose grew up in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. They met at Rhema Bible Training Center in Broken Arrow, OK and graduated together in 1998. During their time at Rhema, Matt played on the men's basketball team and Rose served at Prayer School. They got married in 1999 and served for several years as Children's Pastors at New Creation Church in Glenwood Springs, CO (Rose's home church). Feeling a call to pursue world missions in 2004, with two little boys in tow, they headed back to Tulsa where they graduated from Domata School of Missions at World Outreach Church. From 2005-2008 they lived as full time missionaries in Manila, Philippines working closely with New Life Christian Center pastored by Paul & Shoddy Chase. They were on the teaching staff at New Life School of Ministry and focused on evangelism training & mission trips. In 2008 they were called back to Colorado where they served in leadership and helps at New Creation Church in Craig, CO. A daughter entered their lives in 2012 and when she was one they relocated to Steamboat Springs. In September 2014 Venue Church was planted in Steamboat Springs by Garrett & Sarah Prechtl and team. Matt & Rose have been attending and serving at Venue since day one. Matt has served as an elder and Rose has led worship at Venue for several years. Both have taught the Word in small groups and during services as needed. In 2021 they were asked to take over as lead pastors as God had moved Garrett & Sarah onto another work. They were both ordained in April 2021 at New Creation Church in Glenwood Springs. Matt & Rose have a heart to see revival and a true move of God in the Yampa Valley that includes a focus on evangelism, missions, and the power of the Holy Spirit.
